A Japanese company that manufactures semiconductor components for use in cellular telephones, high-speed data transmission and fiber-optic networks has opened a sales office in Las Vegas.
Peter Ramvall of NEMC America Ltd. said the two-person office opened last month and would expand if growth in industries needing components grows in the United States.
Ramvall said the company, a division of Nippon EMC, Tokyo, opted to open its sales office in Las Vegas after considering locations in California.
Nippon EMC began producing systems for compound semiconductors in 1981 and has marketed products to technology companies in Japan and Taiwan and is now expanding into the United States.
