Edward W. Cook

Edward W. Cook, 27, died Sept. 20 in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1974, in California. A resident for 12 years, he was a restaurant manager.

He is survived by two sons, Tristin Cook of Oregon and Edward Cook Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Katie Cook of Oregon and Patricia Cook of Las Vegas; his father and stepmother, Frank W. and Linda Cook, and his stepfather and mother, Wayne and Cathy Anderson, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents Jim and Shirley Morey of California; his great-grandmother, Lila Lampert of California; two brothers, Frank Cook and Shawn Cook, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Cassandra Cook of Las Vegas.

Services were private. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive handled arrangements.

Ruth E. Farnham

Ruth E. Farnham, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Ogallala, Neb. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Earl Butch Farnham of Logandale; one daughter, Sandi Dieckman of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Glady R. Harley

Glady R. Harley, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born June 25, 1937, in Haledon, N.J. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; one daughter, Robin Lamb of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Diane Cirpoli of New Jersey; two stepsons, James Harley Jr. and Jerry Harley, both of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. is handling arrangements.

Julia M. Hazen

Julia M. Hazen, 86, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. She was born May 6, 1916, in New York. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired violinist.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. is handling arrangements.

Helen Pedersen

Helen Pedersen, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Philadelphia. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John Pedersen of Duncanville, Texas; one daughter, Nancy Mayerhoefer of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Annie Clozella Penney

Annie Clozella Penney, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local convalescent home. She was born April 28, 1915, in Gulfport, Miss. A resident for one year she was a naval supply center worker and a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Charlie A. Penney Jr. of San Diego; two daughters, Clarissa Ringer of Las Vegas, and Irma Davis of Oakland, Calif.; two sisters, Lillian B. Winfield of Oakland, and Jullenia B. Sands of Alexandria, La.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday in Oakland. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Scott T. Sheldon

Scott T. Sheldon, 22, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 20, 1980, in Dearborn, Mich. A resident for 22 years, he was an electrical technician.

He is survived by his father and mother, Kenneth and Joanna Sheldon of Las Vegas; one sister, Kelsey Sheldon of Las Vegas; two grandmothers, Maxine Bacon of Lewiston, Mich., and Joan Cox of Las Vegas; and one grandfather, Earl Sparkmon of Indianapolis.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the LDS Evergreen Ward, 6100 Alta Drive. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Arsenia C. Williams

Arsenia C. Williams, 41, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1960, in the Philippines. A resident for nine years, she was a hotel housekeeping supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, Roderick; two daughters, Rosenia Williams and Beverly Williams, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Porferia M. Cerna of Philippines; two brothers, Eleuterio Cerna and Danio Cerna, both of Philippines; and two sisters, Bebiana Sanchez and Rosario Cerna, both of Philippines. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Mortuary.

Cynthia Ann Wilson

Cynthia Ann Wilson, 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 1949, in California. A resident for 30 years, she was a preschool teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; three sons, Brian Lund, Joseph Wilson and Daniel Wilson, all of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kristen Manos of Las Vegas; her mother, Beth Enos of Carson City; and two sisters, Judy Beatty of Nebraska, and Kathy Davis of Nipomo, Calif.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1730 N. Pecos Road. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.
