Letter: President fails to make his case
Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 | 9:02 a.m.
Despite growing opposition, both here and abroad, President Bush has stepped up efforts to convince Congress that we need to attack Iraq. He has failed to produce any evidence that the Iraqi regime has any links to al-Qaida, whatsoever.
The FBI, CIA and foreign intelligence have found no substance to rumors of Iraqi involvement, yet the un-elected insists we must attack another country in a preemptive strike.
How are we to finance this war? We are in serious deficit with thousands of unemployed and revenue depleted by Bush's infamous tax cut.
While the Israeli-Palestine conflict escalates and hundreds are killed on a regular basis, Bush goes each weekend to his scrub ranch or to Camp David, eats his pretzels and watches television and has no apparent concern for the Middle Eastern situation.
Clinton would have been up all night seeking a solution.
So, are you better off today than you were four years ago?
God help us, he has two more years to go!
