Children’s advocate to get Thompson award
Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 | 8:50 a.m.
The Children's Advocacy Alliance will present a $1,000 check and an excellence award named in honor of the late Las Vegas Sun Associate Editor Sandra "Sandy" Thompson to a children's advocate who goes above and beyond duty to help children.
The 10th annual Children's Advocacy Sandy Thompson Award of Exellence will be given in January, when the Children's Advocacy Alliance releases Nevada's Report Card on Children.
"Many workers do extraordinary things on behalf of children and are never recognized for their efforts," said Donna Coleman of the Children's Advocacy Alliance. "This is just our way of saying thank you and keep up the good work."
Nominations should be received by Nov. 1 by the Children's Advocacy Alliance, 2245 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 432, Henderson, NV 89014.
