Officials of Las Vegas-based casino and commercial developer Marnell Corrao Associates confirmed today a report in the Portland (Maine) Press Herald that the company is investing in an Indian casino in southern Maine.
The Passamaquoddy and Penobscot tribes will unveil architectural details of a $500 million resort next week.
Marnell Corrao, which has built projects with more than 55,000 hotel rooms nationwide, is investing in the project and providing architectural, design and property layout advice on the property, which will offer five restaurants, a showroom, convention space, a golf course and a nature preserve.
The design will feature a white exterior with red-topped turrets designed to resemble Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, N.H.
The resort, however, is dependent upon the state of Maine passing legislation that would legalize casino gambling.
