LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Colorado casinos reported $64.6 million in adjusted gross proceeds in August, down just $973 from July's record month.
The August total was 6.4 percent higher than $60.7 million than the same period last year.
The adjusted gross total is the difference between the money wagered and paid out by casinos.
Black Hawk's 20 casinos accounted for $46.4 million of the adjusted gross proceeds in August. Cripple Creek's 17 casinos generated $13.7 million, and Central City's five casinos generated $4.5 million.
Gambling tax revenue totaled $5.8 million in August.
