Dorothy L. Aguirre

Dorothy L. Aguirre, 78, of Boulder City died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Orange Field, Texas. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest; one son, Anthony Vance Aguirre of Boulder City; two daughters, Linda Summerhill of San Diego and Sherry Branham of Henderson; two sisters, Thelma Summerhill of El Monte, Calif., and Jewel Hoover of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Chapel, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Marvin L. Alexander Sr.

Marvin L. Alexander Sr., 74, of Houston died Sept. 2 in Houston. He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Creed, Colo. A former Clark County resident for 50 years, he was in the construction industry and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Conrad; five sons, John, Nathan and Donald, all of Texas, and Marvin Jr. of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Estelle Fincher; one sister, Bonnie Brown of California; two brothers, Darrell of California and Alvin of Las Vegas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 12:45 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Southern Utah Mortuary, Cedar City, Utah, is handling arrangements.

Doris Artioli

Doris Artioli, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Boston. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Mayor of Coral Springs, Fla., Debbie Overly of Las Vegas and Brenda Smigel of Leesburg, Fla.; one brother, Bob Tetreault of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Willie F. Bacon

Willie F. Bacon, 67, of North Las Vegas died Sept. 11 in Las Vegas. Born Feb. 18, 1935, in Memphis, Tenn., he was a resident for five years.

He is survived by two daughters, Regina Bacon and Karen Bacon, two brothers, Charles Bacon and Richard Bacon, and one sister, Lillie Leftridge, all of California; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Nellie L. Bedunnah

Nellie L. Bedunnah, 93, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born July 28, 1909, in Greensburg, Ind. A resident for 63 years, she was a retired sales clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Roselyn Becraft, and one son, Gary Bedunnah, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Johnny Bennett

Johnny Bennett, 51, of Las Vegas died Sept. 2 in Las Vegas. A deliverer, he was born July 23, 1951, in Alabama.

Roslyn K. Caldwell

Roslyn K. Caldwell, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired hotel community relations manager.

She is survived by one sister, Mary McDonnell of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive.

Melvin L. Gordon

Melvin L. Gordon, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was an airline supervisor, an Army National Guard veteran and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Felice Jones and Traci Brown, both of Simi Valley, Calif.; two sons, Joseph Gordon of Calabasas, Calif., and Adam Gordon of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Diane Gutierrez

Diane Gutierrez, 71, of Las Vegas died Sept. 10 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Los Angeles. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Becerra-Gutierrez and Richard Becerra-Gutierrez; one daughter, Sherry Kassian; one sister, Joan Levine; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Maxine E. Haenert, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 21, 1921, in Chatfield, Minn. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Walter R.J.; three daughters, Marlene G. Elliott of North Las Vegas, Sharon I. Hawkinson of Cedar Lake, Ind., and Susan M. Dermody of Orange County, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Timm of Chatfield and Carol Ebling of Phoenix; two brothers, Fritz Schwartz of Chatfield and Chuck Schwartz of Sebeka, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

J. Fred Haigler, 91, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1911, in Lenox, Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired chairman of the board for a meat packing company.

Alberta Hall

Alberta Hall, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Illinois. A resident for 35 years, she worked in the advertising department of the Henderson Home News.

She is survived by three daughters, Tina, Lisa and Diane; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Theresa M. Kalil

Theresa M. Kalil, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Pittsfield, Mass. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Lynaugh; one son, John C. Kalil of Waterboro, Maine; one daughter, Donna Kalil of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Francine LaMonica, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday. She was born Oct. 21, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for six years, she was a retired senior buyer for an aerospace company and was a real estate agent.

She is survived by one son, Lewis; three daughters, Ivy, Debbie and Sharon; and two grandchildren.

Mary Frances Livingston

Mary Frances Livingston, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Ohio. A resident for 14 years, she was a teacher.

She is survived by one son, Norman Frank Livingston; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Marie Mazzola

Marie Mazzola, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Detroit. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five daughters, Lori Malofy, Theresa Lemke and Toni Krummel, all of Las Vegas, Maria Ficalora of Henderson and Annette Burgess of Romeo, Mich.; three sisters, Penna Scandarito of Detroit, Rose Malino of Las Vegas and Theresa Tringali of Warren, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.

Joseph A. Michalowicz

Joseph A. Michalowicz, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1916, in Illinois. A resident for three years, he was a truck driver and a member of the Chicago Truck Drivers Union.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph Michalowicz, Michael Michalowicz and James Michalowicz; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Leona Mae Miles

Leona Mae Miles, 76, died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 6, 1926, in Oklahoma. A resident for 18 years, she was a manager of storage units and a member of the Lady of the Elks.

They are survived by five sons, Bill, Marvin, Fredrick, David and Johnathan; four daughters, Noralee, Linda, Carlene and Paula; two brothers, George Stelting and John Stelting; three sisters, Mary Penner, Helen Peacock, Tilly Atteberry and Ann Duibley; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Scott C. Moore, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1934, in San Francisco. A resident for nine years, he was an engineering supervisor.

He is survived by his wife; three sons; and six grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Thelma Brown of Longmont, Colo., Margaret Austin of Broken Arrow, Okla., Shirley Manus of Las Vegas and Becky Dresser of Henderson; two sons, Tony Rivas and Steven Rivas, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Marjorie Hance of Longmont, Colo.; one brother, Steve Brown of Thornton, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

April Bonnie Tyra, 55, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 16, 1947, in West Virginia. A resident for 31 years, she was a bookkeeper for a construction company.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; her mother, Nancy; two sons, Lee and Danny; two daughters, Danielle and Correne; three brothers, James, Bobby and Billy; two sisters, Judy and Peggy; and two grandchildren.

Joseph D. Way, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Teague, Texas. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired battalion chief and Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Dale Way, one stepdaughter, Darlene Leone, and one stepson, Randy Leone, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Womack of Corsicana, Texas; one brother, Tim Way of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Ronald Lee Weissman, 62, of Las Vegas died Sept. 6 in Las Vegas. He was born May 25, 1940, in Illinois. A resident for eight years, he was a comptroller for Vita Minerals.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marco-Weissman; and two sons, Randy and Robert.

Sandra Lee Whitt

Sandra Lee Whitt, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Oil City, Pa. A resident for 30 years, she worked for Guaranteed Tours, worked in nursing for 17 years, was a Flamingo Hilton bookkeeper for 11 years, a real estate agent at Liberty Realty for five years and a human resources manager for Ray & Ross Transport.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen Bunting of Las Vegas and Raymond Bunting of Pahrump; two daughters, Kimberly Raizin and Bobbie Bunting, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Warren Partridge of Dundee, N.Y., and James Partridge of Las Vegas; one sister, Bernice Meins of Indiana; and two grandchildren.

Beverly J. Williams

Beverly J. Williams, 39, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 8, 1962, in Sandusky, Ohio. A resident for eight years, she was a teacher and computer specialist at J.D. Smith Middle School, a member of UNLV's Honor Society and a lifetime member of UNLV's Alumni Association.

She is survived by her husband, Barry S.; one daughter, Bianca M. Williams, and one son, Barry S. Williams II, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Major Ruffin Jr. and Queen Ester Smith Ruffin of Sandusky; three brothers, Mustafa Malik of Toledo, Ohio, and Major Ruffin III and Jackie Ruffin, both of Sandusky; three sisters, Joyce Barnes of Cleveland and Minnie Jean Westbrook and Renee Ruffin, both of Sandusky.

Janet Helen Williamson, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Michigan. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired hotel PBX operator, a member of Teamsters Local 995 and former president of United Auto Workers Local 1806.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Donald Fowler of Springport, Mich.; three daughters, Patricia Krause of Kendallville, Ind., Virginia Foster of Leslie, Mich., and Rhonda Sun of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Stover of Waukesha, Wis.; two sisters, Janiece Newman of South Lyon, Mich., and Deloma Nolte of Flowerville, Mich.; eight grandchildren;and four great-grandchildren.

Sam Zamora, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 16, 1936, in Valencia, N.M. A resident for many years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three sons, Sam Zamora Jr., Philip Zamora and Daniel Zamora, all of Las Vegas; seven brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
