California firm opening Las Vegas branch

The Voit Cos., a Los Angeles-based commercial real estate company with 200 employees that has developed and acquired real estate worth more than $1 billion in California and Arizona, is opening its first brokerage office outside California in Las Vegas.

The firm tapped Kevin Higgins as its first broker. Higgins was previously with CB Richard Ellis, where he was the top-producing CB Richard Ellis broker worldwide in 2000.

Higgins declined to name any other brokers the firm has retained. He said the company is seeking a full-time managing broker, and intends to build up to 10 to 12 brokers in the valley. Voit will offer commercial sales and leasing, fee development and project and asset management.
