Letter: CAT passengers willing to help
Friday, Sept. 13, 2002 | 9:15 a.m.
We want to convey our compliments regarding the young people of Las Vegas. We recently attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas-University of Wisconsin football game.
Taxis and other transportation seemed limited and, being over 65 years of age, walking, standing for any length of time could have been a problem. We finally got on the 654 CAT bus. We didn't have the exact change but the driver was most considerate.
The bus was full, however. But two young men got up and gave us their seats. Another young man told us where to get the next bus we were to transfer to.
On the 201 CAT bus, we again were given seats. A young man named Warren (living in Las Vegas) directed us by going with us across the street and to the exact area where we were to transfer again to the 301 CAT bus.
Because of all the considerate and helpful people (especially Warren), we arrived back at our hotel safely.
