David Bindson

David Bindson, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Smorgon, Belarus. A resident for three years, he was a retired restaurant owner, member of the Holocaust Survivors Group of Las Vegas, a board member of the Lions Club, a member of the Jewish Council for the Elderly of Chicago, and the Carefree Senior Living Association.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Dr. Henry Jay Bindson of Las Vegas and Morris Leonard Bindson of Scottsdale, Ariz; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

The family suggests donations to the Holocaust Survivors Group of Las Vegas, 3321 Uribe St. Las Vegas, NV 89129.

Rayburn Bryant

Rayburn Bryant, 39, died Aug. 21 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 7, 1963, in California. A resident for 12 years, he was a culinary student, member of Carpenters Local 1977 and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hillson Bryant; his parents, Raybion Bryant and Joan Bolton; one son, David Ray Bryant; and one daughter, Allison Rae Bryant; three brothers, Robin, Bryce E. Erwin and Duane A. Erwin; and one sister, Saundra Bolton.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ana M. Coburn

Ana M. Coburn, 30, of Las Vegas died Saturday in California. She was born March 2, 1972, in Ely. A resident for seven years, she was a registered nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Cameo Don Coburn; and one son, Kyler James Coburn, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Cheryl and Antonio Noreiga of Las Vegas; her companion, Tony Renner of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Jose Noriega of Winnemucca, Juan Noriega of Ely and Antonio Noriega Jr. of Las Vegas.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in Cashman Center Theatre, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Elks Hall in Ely. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Rd., is handling arrangements.

Charles Howard Ensor

Charles Howard Ensor, 86, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1916, in Ireland. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired aeronautical engineer and metallurgist.

He is survived by one son, Stephen Ensor; one daughter, Vera McLean of California; two brothers, Thomas Ensor of New Zealand, and John Ensor of Canada; one sister, Katie Allingham of England; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd., North is handling arrangements.

Otto F. Giese

Otto F. Giese, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Lancaster, Calif. He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Suring, Wis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired carpenter, Little League and Pony League coach, Word War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the FFA.

He is survived by two sons, Otto F. Giese Jr., and Karl Giese, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Elizabeth Crane of Alta Loma, Calif., Susan Doster of Littlerock, Calif., and Kathy Vannice of Quartz Hill, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by graveside services in Paradise Memorial Gardens

Genises Getsemani Gonzales

Genises Getsemani Gonzales, 9, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 25, 1992, in Los Angeles.

She is survived by her parents, Togelio Gonzales and Naomy Estrata; two sisters, Heidi Gonzales and Tannia Gonzales; and one brother, Jonathan Gonzales.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday in the LDS El Rancho Ward, 2401 E. Tonopah Ave., North Las Vegas, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Home, 438W. Sunset Road, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy B. Helling

Dorothy B. Helling, 83, of Las Vegas died Sept. 5. She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Kankakee, Ill. A resident for 16 years, she was a bank officer.

She is survived by one son, Robert T. Helling; and one grandchild.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City at a later date. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Anne Leora Jacobson

Anne Leora Jacobson, 75, of Las Vegas died Sept. 5. in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Spokane, Wash. A resident for eight years, she was a retired musician and entertainer.

She is survived by six daughters, Lori White of Las Vegas, Kathy McMurray and Mary L. Baquava, both of Antioch, Calif., and Diane Burns, Deanna Neff and Darlene Jensen, all of Orange County, Calif.; one son, Dan Jacobson of Kalamazoo , Mich.; and one brother, Bill Flanigan of Bellevue, Wash; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., with 6:30 p.m. services in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will 10 a.m. Monday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, followed by graveside services in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Kalaya Jarbsunthie

Kalaya Jarbsunthie, 31, died Saturday in California. She was born March 27, 1971 in Thailand. A resident for 12 years, she was a flight paramedic for Mercy Air Services.

She is survived by her fiance, Kevin Guenard of Las Vegas; her mother, Jootharat Anderson and step-father, Ken Anderson of Noblesville, Ind.; one sister, Katherine Anderson of Noblesville; and grandparents, Norma and Robert Anderson of Noblesville. She is also survived by Mary Kincaid-Chauncey of Las Vegas, who raised her.

Services will be held in Noblesville. Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Indiana handled arrangements.

Robert Jerome

Robert Jerome, 64, of Las Vegas died Sept. 3 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a security guard and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margarete, one son, Steven Jerome, and one daughter, Cindy Daken, all of Germany.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Anne Elizabeth Marsh

Anne Elizabeth Marsh, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born June 8, 1914, in North Bloomfield, Ohio. A resident for six years, she was a retired fashion model.

She is survived by one daughter, Twila Anne Rogers of Las Vegas; one son, Milton Lee Jesman of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Helen Siwicki of Bristolville, Ohio and Mary Panek of Warren, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity Life Center, 1000 E. St. Louis Ave. Additional services and burial will be held in Scottsdale. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Maria D. Martinez, 101, died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 9, 1901, in Cuba.

Alice May McCall

Alice May McCall, 92, of Las Vegas died Sept. 5, in Las Vegas. She was born April 20, 1910, in Iowa. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired restaurant manager.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Shirley Hogan; one sister, Dorothy Jones of Florida; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Private arrangements are being handled by Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Justine L. McConnell

Justine L. McConnell, 85, of Boulder City died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 12, 1917, in Warren, Ohio. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired aerospace technical typist and a World War II Marine veteran.

She is survived by her companion, Virginia Arnett of Boulder City; three nieces; and two nephews.

Michael W. 'Mikey' Merritt

Michael W. "Mikey" Merritt, 26, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 10, 1976, in Rapid City, S.D. A resident for 21 years, he worked in the glass industry.

He is survived by his parents, Donald E. Merritt of Las Vegas and Peggy Ann Ross of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Jodi McCall of Las Vegas; and two grandmothers, Maxine Hulse of Upland, Calif. and Joyce Morgan of Rapid City.

Maria 'Luisa' Monge

Maria "Luisa" Monge, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born July 6, 1922, in Cuba. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by two sisters, Carmen Rodriquez and Nieves Ramos, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Juan Peraza of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 2:30-7:30 p.m. today, with 6 p.m. services, in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1:45 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Michael Paul Palumbo

Michael Paul Palumbo, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1949, in Norfolk, Va. He was a resident for seven years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Michael Paul Palumbo of Las Vegas; one daughter, Shana Marie Palumbo of Chesapeake, Va.; his mother, Gladys Mae Hudson of Norfolk; three brothers, David Palumbo of Las Vegas, and the Rev. Patrick Paul Palumbo Jr. and Ronald L. Fulcher, both of Chesapeake; two sisters, Patricia Orletsky of Norfolk and Sharon Spruill of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren.

Burial is private. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Cheryl E. Petarde

Cheryl E. Petarde, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born June 29, 1948, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Paul Petarde of Las Vegas.

Daniel A. Sotelo

Daniel A. Sotelo, 24, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 18, 1978, in Salinas, Calif. He was a carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Mary G. Brown, and two sisters, Monica Sotelo and Naomi Frumusanu, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

LaVerne B. Swanson

LaVerne B. Swanson, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 6, 1927, in Walsenburg, Colo. A resident for 11 years, she was an aerospace worker for Northrop Corp. for 36 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie D. Laine of Henderson; and one sister, Leona Matsen of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Helen Eileen Williams, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Bakersfield, Calif. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired new-car processor.

She is survived by one brother, Jack Evans Jr. of Palm Springs, Calif.

Magdalen 'Helen' Young

Magdalen "Helen" Young, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Kaukauka, Wis. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois A. Mahler of Las Vegas; six sons, Ronald Young and Roger Young, both of Chicago, George J. Young, Jr. of Lorsch, Germany, Paul Young and Marvin Young, both of Richey, Fla., and Lyle Young of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon-6:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary. Graveside services will be noon Sept. 19 at Palm.

Rita M. Zalewski

Rita M. Zalewski, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by her friend, Anna Cutter of Las Vegas.

Helen L. Zitoli

Helen L. Zitoli, 79, of Las Vegas died Sept. 3 in a local hospital. She was born June 17, 1923, in Longansport, Ind. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired secretary, member of the U.S.-China Fellowship, Episcopal Church Women and National Society of University Women.

She is survived by one son, Robert Zitoli of Las Vegas; one brother, David Zartman of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Lucy Dobkins of Denver and Frances Jordan and Roberta Cameta, both of Tehachapi, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
