Joshua Aginiga

Joshua Aginiga, 16, of Boulder City died Aug. 31 in Boulder City. A student, he was born March 22, 1986, in Henderson.

He is survived by his father, Steve Aginiga of Boulder City; his mother and stepfather, Roxanna (Laramore) and Marcus Carver of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Chad Aginiga, Shawn Aginiga and Marcus Carver Jr.

Services will 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Burial will be in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Peter Bivonia

Peter Bivonia, 80, of Las Vegas died Aug. 30 in a local hospital. He was born May 4, 1922, in Jamestown, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a food server/bus boy.

He is survived by two cousins, Frank and Mavorene Gugino of Orange, Calif.

Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is arranging private arrangements.

Carrie Mae Dewitty

Carrie Mae Dewitty, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 26, 1930, in Hallsville, Texas. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Gates, and one sister, Dorothy Venaule, both of Las Vegas, and Betty Jo Bell of California; two brothers, Otis J. Lee and Nathaniel Lee, both of California; and eight grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Vernon D. Gant

Vernon D. Gant, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Boise, Idaho. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired construction superintendent, a World War II Army veteran and former vice commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9833.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Webb and Verna Humes, and one son, Russel Gant, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89104.

Gordon Lee Gray

Gordon Lee Gray, 49, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Philadelphia. A resident for six years, he was a retired laboratory technician.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, Jerry, Brian and Benjamin, and one daughter, Sari, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Jean and Robert Dutill of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Jean of Daytona Beach, Donna of Mullica Hill, N.J., and Cheryl of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Harold Brown Hood

Harold Brown Hood, 76, of Benson, Ariz., died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A supervisor and environmental engineer, he was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Little Rock, Ark.

He is survived by three sons, Bryon Hood of Huntsville, Ala., Rick Hood of Las Vegas and Robert R. Hood of Browns Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Sharon Leigh Cross of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Bell Brix and Dorothy Hovan; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Modesta M. McCutchan

Modesta M. McCutchan, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Mexico City. A resident for 46 years, she was a retired casino worker.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Martinez and Delia Martinez-Phillips, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Guadulupe Martinez of New Mexico and Bertha Chavez and Elvia Alvarez, both of Las Vegas; five brothers, Sergio Martinez, Jamie Martinez, Octavio Martinez and Rogelio Martinez, all of Las Vegas, and Edmundo Martinez of Mexico; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Catherine Morales

Catherine Morales, 73, of Las Vegas died Aug. 15 in Las Vegas. She was born July 3, 1929. A resident for 12 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Helen Varlea of California.

Burial was scheduled today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Deborah Morea

Deborah Morea, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born July 29, 1929, in New York. A resident for 15 years, she was a teacher and a member of City of Lights, a new age philosophy.

She is survived by two daughters, DiAnna Morea and Elana Naito; and three brothers, Albert Salinas, David Salinas and Sonny Salinas.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private family services.

Louis E. Pugh

Louis E. Pugh, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born April 11, 1926, in Leechburg, Pa. A resident for 47 years, he was a bus driver for LTR Stage Lines and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley; one daughter, Lillian Williams of Las Vegas; one brother, Harold Pugh of Pennsylvania; and one grandchild.

Private graveside services were scheduled in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Alan James Witt

Alan James Witt, 40, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 12, 1962, in Big Rapids, Mich. A resident for 17 years, he was a chef and an Eagle Scout in Big Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Turea Kim Witt; two sons, Zachary James Witt and Terik Jacob Witt, both of Las Vegas; his mother and stepfather, Betty Witt and Wayne F. Goldammer of Big Rapids; and two sisters, Susan Lynne Eveland of Big Rapids and Jean Louise McNeel of Palmdale, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones.
