Letter: Don’t force your music on others
Friday, Sept. 6, 2002 | 9:12 a.m.
I am a newcomer to the Las Vegas area. I think it is wonderful and I know I am going to enjoy living here. I don't know how many letters you've had about this subject, but here it is for what it's worth: music.
"Well," you say, "what about music?" Just this, there's nothing wrong with music or people who like music. What is wrong is the assumption by any individual or group that everyone around them shares their taste in choice and volume of music.
Las Vegas now has the same problem I have noticed in every city that I've been to lately. That is people riding around in their cars with their windows down inflicting their music, at high volume, on the public. This is done in total disregard as to whether the public likes it or not.
I like music, especially old-time rock 'n' roll. What I don't do is force it on anyone else. Please don't make me listen to your music. I give you my word that you won't have to listen to mine.
