America West Airlines today announced it will provide additional service between Las Vegas and Dallas/Ft. Worth and Miami starting in December and also intends to apply for a slot between Las Vegas and Washington Reagan National airport.

The Tempe, Ariz.-based airline, the second busiest air carrier at McCarran International Airport will reinstate a third daily, nonstop roundtrip flight to Dallas/Ft. Worth and initiate a second daily, nonstop roundtrip flight to Miami.

The new Dallas/Ft. Worth service begins Dec. 26, leaving McCarran at 11:20 a.m. and arriving at 3:52 p.m. Return service departs Dallas/Ft. Worth at 4:45 p.m. and arrives at 5:58 p.m.

New service from Las Vegas to Miami also begins Dec. 26, leaving McCarran at 5 p.m. and arriving in Miami at 12:37 a.m. The return flight, beginning Dec. 27, leaves Miami at 8:15 a.m. and lands at 10:25 a.m.

America West also said it intends to apply to the Department of Transportation for the currently unused slot between Las Vegas and Washington Reagan National held by Las Vegas-based National Airlines. If successful in securing those rights, America West will commence additional service between Las Vegas and Washington National immediately.
