Letter: Baseball players just crybabies, not real men

Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 | 9:09 a.m.

Baseball's pampered millionaires are not going to strike -- be still my quivering heart. The poor souls are going back to the fields and face a ball coming at them at 100 mph. I wonder how fast a bullet will be coming at our servicemen when they face the Iraqi army in the near future?

When will the primadonnas realize they are basically playing a child's game? The real man's game is football.

You baseball owners are no better than the crybabies you lavish millions on. Your greed has totally blinded you. Why should a fan mortgage the farm to see a game?

Let's get rid of professional baseball and replace it with minor league players. The best baseball I ever saw was when I watched minor league teams in action.
