Letter: Aggressive drivers scourge of the roadways
Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 | 9:21 a.m.
After reading Sunday's lengthy article on our roadways and accidents, it reminded me of a driving experience I had the previous day.
I was at a stop light at the intersection of Stephanie Street and Warm Springs Road in Henderson, where I was surrounded by pickup trucks, SUVs and a monster vehicle behind me.
All I could see was a huge grill, and I noticed as the light changed these huge tires whizzing around me. I could not even see the cab, or if a man or woman was driving.
But whoever was driving this monstrosity thought he owned the road. And that is the problem!
I was driving a full-size, four-door car myself. I used to feel pretty safe, but not anymore. Coming from Chicago, I thought the drivers there were nuts, but they are like people on Prozac compared to the craziness here.
And it doesn't stop with just adults; the younger drivers are awful. How do most of the teenagers in this area get driver's licenses anyway?
So, folks, it's not so much the way roads are configured, it's the drivers and the road hogs.
