Recycle those old pumpkins
Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 | 11:12 a.m.
What to do with that pumpkin or jack-o-lantern tomorrow?
How about recycling it into livestock feed?
R.C. Farms Inc. of North Las Vegas, is conducting its 10th annual jack-o-lantern collection drive. Last year 12 tons of the salvaged orange squashes were turned into feed for pigs and cattle.
Those who want to recycle their pumpkins can drop them off in the light blue dumpsters with orange banners at the Smith's Food Kings at Rancho and Craig roads or Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue or at the Stu Miller Pumpkin Patches at Sunset Road and Stephanie Street or Sahara Avenue and Buffalo Road.
