High School: B. Gorman ('00)
Where she is now: Gonzaga
Class: Junior
Sport: Volleyball
Currently: Although the Gonzaga team is off to a slow start this season, Jamie VanMeetren is quietly enjoying a third consecutive strong season. A 6-foot outside hitter for the Bulldogs, VanMeetren has seen action in 19 of Gonzaga's 21 matches and currently ranks fourth on the team in kills with 97. Her 2.06 kills per game average is good for third on the squad, and VanMeetren's 76 digs place fourth on the Gonzaga squad as well. Gonzaga is just 4-17 so far this year, as the Zags head into West Coast Conference play.
Looking back: A four-year volleyball letterwinner for Bishop Gorman, VanMeetren led the Gaels to a second place finish in the state tournament in her final season. VanMeetren, an honor roll student at Gorman, earned Sunset Division MVP honors as a senior, as well as being named to the all-tournament team in the 4A state playoffs. VanMeetren was a two-time all-Sunset pick for the Gaels, and she also lettered two years for the basketball team.
