A former Las Vegas Planning and Development Department director, and the current assistant city manager of development services for Reno, will be the new director of North Las Vegas' Development Services Department, the city announced Monday.
Donna Kristaponis will begin working for North Las Vegas on Dec. 9. She will oversee about a 60-person staff in development services, city spokeswoman Brenda Johnson said.
The salary range is $84,173 to $123,856. Johnson said although Kristaponis has already accepted the position, her starting salary is still being negotiated.
The previous director of development services, Tom Bell, resigned in November 2001. Since then, Jimmy Stubler, deputy fire chief, and Steve Baxter, planning manager, have served as acting director of the department.
Kristaponis has been Reno's assistant city manager of development services since 1999. She was director of Las Vegas Planning and Development Department from 1995 to 1996, and worked for the city of Houston from 1991 to 1995, Johnson said.
