Margaret Barja

Margaret Barja, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 17, 1928, in California.

She is survived by one son, Alfonso Lewis; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Susan Caccamo

Susan Caccamo, 48, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 24, 1954, in Norfolk, Neb. A resident for 20 years, she was a courtesy clerk for a grocery store.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; her mother and stepfather, Pauline and Michael Bussell of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Laura Armstrong of Rockford, Ill., and Cynthia Randall of Ontario, Calif.; and two brothers, Douglas Randall of Bryan, Ohio, and Rocky Pergin of Moreno Valley, Calif.

Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is arranging pending services.

Jack R. Cooper

Jack R. Cooper, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Los Angeles. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired biologist for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, a member of North Las Vegas Elks Lodge 2353, Ely Elks Lodge 1469 and the Masons and a former assistant troop leader for the Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Jim Cooper of Boise, Idaho, and Donald Cooper and Ted Cooper, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Suzanne Nelson of Magna, Utah, and Linda Eshelman of White Water, Wis.; one sister, Lois Nicholson of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the National Elks Foundation or the Elks State Major Project, c/o North Las Vegas Elks Lodge 2353.

Walter W. Davis

Walter W. Davis, 78, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born July 24, 1924, in Pueblo, Colo. A resident for 71 years, he was a retired welder, a World War II Army veteran, served in the 101st Airborne and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Juanda; one daughter, Kelli Jakeman, and two sons, Walter Davis and Kevin Davis, all of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Joyce M. Downey

Joyce M. Downey, 67, of Las Vegas died Oct. 12 in the Los Angeles Veterans Administration Hospital. A retired nurse from Lake Mead Hospital Medical Center and an Air Force captain for more than 10 years, she was born in 1935 in Worcester, Mass.

She is survived by her mother, Z. Lillian (Hughes) Downey of Sherwood, Prince Edward Island.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial were in Massachusetts.

Robert L. Farnsworth Jr.

Robert L. Farnsworth Jr., 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 7, 1944, in Elmhurst, Ill. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired Veterans Administration rehabilitation counselor, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of the UNLV Alumni Association.

He is survived by one sister, Tannissee Farnsworth of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Glenna I. Fazenbaker

Glenna I. Fazenbaker, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 23, 1927, in Morgantown, W.Va. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired bookkeeper in the hardware industry.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Lee of Las Vegas; one sister, Donna Lehman of Crescent City, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Scotty Jerome Gill

Scotty Jerome Gill, 35, of Las Vegas died Oct. 19 in Phoenix. He was born Jan. 20, 1967, in Las Vegas. A resident for 30 years, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his father, Cecil R. Gill of Bernica, Calif.; his mother, Delores Gill, and one brother, Cecil Lamarr Gill, both of Las Vegas.

Services will be noon Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Barbara Goodrich

Barbara Goodrich, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1944, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 36 years, she was a bookkeeper for a furniture company.

She is survived by two daughters, Debi Paulson of South Carolina and Tami Goodrich of Las Vegas; one son, Cliff Goodrich of Las Vegas; her mother, Rosemary Truesdell, and one brother, Charles Britton, both of Rapid City, Neb.; one sister, Janice Wheat of Lincoln, Neb.; and one granddaughter.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Elezebeth Gourley

Elezebeth Gourley, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Canada. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, David of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one daughter, Jennifer Gourley; and one grandchild.

Lillian D. Hoffman

Lillian D. Hoffman, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born March 18, 1920, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Arthur Hoffman of Los Angeles, Robert Hoffman of Rialto, Calif., and Martin Hoffman of Yuma, Ariz.; three daughters, Virginia D'Annunzio of Chatham, N.J., Nancy Fischer of Lucerne Valley, Calif., and Sally Hoffman of Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Lawrence Howard, 21, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A mover, he was born Dec. 2, 1980, in California.

Lilly Majors, 93, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 23, 1909, in Latvia. A resident for six years, she was a dressmaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Deanna O'Connor; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Angie Lee Nichols

Angie Lee Nichols, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 15, 1936,in Collins, Miss. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a retired cook.

She is survived by one son, Willie Barber of Portsmouth, Va.; one daughter, Bonnie Allen, and one brother, Joe Logan, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 1025 Balzar Ave. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

June A. Prudhomme

June A. Prudhomme, 68, of Pahrump died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 4, 1934, in Milwaukee. A former Las Vegas resident for 30 years and most recently a resident of Pahrump for 14 years, she was a retired caregiver in the health care industry.

She is survived by one son, Joseph Jablonski of Pahrump; four daughters, Mary Binj, Catherine Martinez and Debra Jablonski, all of Las Vegas, and Margaret Jones of Colorado; one sister, Janie Potter of Logandale; and eight grandchildren.

American Cremation and Burial Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Jayla E. Pugh

Jayla E. Pugh, died Tuesday, her date of birth, in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 2002.

She is survived by her father, Eugene Pugh, her mother, LaTrice Carter, and one brother, Jayvion Pugh, all of North Las Vegas; one sister, Kenyatta Jefferson, and her grandparents, Regina Burton, Eugene and Olive Pugh and Jerry Carter, all of Las Vegas; and her great-grandparents, Mary Webb and James and Elizabeth Jones, all of Las Vegas, and Johnny Carter Sr. of Louisiana.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will follow at noon Tuesday in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Michael Scott Sahhar, 38, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 13, 1968, in Glendora, Calif. A resident for six months, he was a writer.

He is survived by one brother, John Sahhar of Santa Barbara, Calif.

William F. Sterbens

William F. Sterbens, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired electrical contractor, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the American Legion, Rotary Fellow and Chamber of Commerce, a lifetime member of the Elks and past president of the Nebraska/Iowa National Electrical Contractors Association.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; three daughters, Nancy Sterbens of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ann Sterbens of Omaha, Neb., and Colleen Baker of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, Mark Sterbens Sr. of Las Vegas, Lee Sterbens of Park City, Utah, and Matt Sterbens of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Dolores Stevens of Omaha; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Gordon Clayton Stumlin, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 24, 1938, in Wisconsin. A resident for four years, he was a railroad laborer.

He is survived by two sons, Gordon Stumlin of La Crosse, Wis., and Danny Stumlin of Madison, Wis.; and one brother, Lester Stumlin of Holmen, Wis.

George Orland Turner

George Orland Turner, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1935, in Lowell, Mass. A resident for four years, he was a licensed pilot, owned his own business from an early age and owned Handyman America in Las Vegas since 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; two daughters, Linda LesMerises of Fresno, Calif., and Jennifer Jalbert of Merrimack, N.H.; two sons, George Turner Jr. of New Hampshire and Mark Turner of Methuen, Mass.; three sisters, Louise Decola of Seabrook, N.H., Patricia Sheehan of Hollis, N.H., and Donna Johnson of Nashua, N.H.; and nine grandchildren.
