Temple Beth Shalom to host boutique Sunday
The Women's League of Temple Beth Shalom will host its Hanukkah Boutique from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at 10700 Haven Wood Lane.
There will be Judaica available for home and gifts. Vendors as well as Syn City Gems and Twinkle Toes will provide a variety of items appropriate for adults and children.
Refreshments and fun for the children will be offered. For further information, call 804-1333.
Big Brothers gala to honor Station
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada is hosting The Big Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the contributions of Station Casinos.
The black tie event, themed "The Magic of Mentoring," will feature a silent auction and entertainment by the Susan McDonald Band.
Proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada. Tickets are $250 and are available by calling 731-2227.
Health fair planned as community event
The Martin Luther King Family Resource Center will host a Community Health Fair "Celebrating Your Health" from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Buena Vista Springs Apartments' multi-purpose room, 2417 W. Morton Ave.
The event is free and open to the public, and will focus on health education information and resources. For more information, call 455-0764.
Senior fair set at Paradise center
Local businesses and organizations have joined with the Clark County Senior Advocate Office to present a free Senior Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 McLeod St.
Senior service organizations, businesses with products valuable to older adults and groups who specialize in promoting wellness for adults will be attending the fair, which will be an excellent resource for seniors seeking information about retirement, taxes, health care, travel leisure opportunities and senior issues.
Free blood pressure checks and osteoporosis tests will be conducted. County commissioners will also be attending for question and answer sessions on senior services being offered by Clark County.
