Spooky locales
Freakling Bros. Inc. is presenting three haunted houses for the 11th straight year. The Dungeon will be at United Artists Theatre at Rainbow Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road; the Mortuary will be at Nellis Boulevard and Bonanza Road; and the Black Box will be at Sunset Station, Henderson. Admission to each haunted house is $8 and all will be open 6:30 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays and 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays through Nov. 2. Under 5 not allowed; under 12 must be accompanied. 362-3327.
Little Darlings and Haunted Enterprises present Little Demons Dungeon, a haunted house filled with ghouls at 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. tonight through Sunday and Thursday at 1514 Western Ave. Adults 18 and older. Admission is $15. 366-1141.
DB&D Haunted Ventures presents Cirque Du Demons, 12 chambers on two levels in a laser force arena at 5 p.m. daily through Nov. 2 at 6330 S. Pecos Road. Admission is $12. A portion of the proceeds benefit Nevada Child Seekers. 316-2001.
The Tomb of Darkness, Las Vegas' largest haunted house, is open at 7 nightly through Thursday at 2828 S. Highland Drive. Admission is $12. 735-2257.
Fear-O-Matic, a scare machine that monitors and records its victims' responses to 13 levels of horror and includes a printout where subjects see how their fright gauge compares to others, is open 6 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Nov. 2 at World Gone Mad Laboratories, 6280 S. Rainbow carnival
Rainbow Medical Centers is sponsoring the sixth annual Halloween Health Fair & Kids Carnival from 2 to 5 p.m. today in its parking lot at 4920 Lone Mountain Road at Decatur Boulevard. Free cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks will be offered to adults. Featuring free treats, carnival games and a haunted moon walk jumping castle. 255-6659.
Trick-or-treat
A free Halloween party filled with spooky stories, fun games and treats begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. Costumes are encouraged. 633-1070.

KSNE 106.5-FM is sponsoring a safe haven for children to trick or treat on Halloween. Families are invited from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for the annual Safe Street at the Haunted Forest, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd. Included are costume contests, entertainment, pumpkins, scarecrows, candy and a safe Halloween experience. Admission is $3 to $4. Proceeds benefit Opportunity Village. 259-3741.
The 18th annual Las Vegas Houdini Seance conducted by Dixie D. Dooley at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Theatre of Magic at Greek Isles, 305 Convention Center Drive. Costumes are encouraged. Halloween candy will be provided for children. Admission is free. 457-8448.
Trick-or-treaters can collect candy from participating stores. KWNR 95.5-FM and KISS 101.9-FM radio stations will pass out candy and host live remotes from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Galleria at Sunset mall. The North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Department presents two events Thursday at the Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce. A Halloween carnival and costume contest for ages 12 and younger is at 4 to 9 p.m. and costs 25 cents. The Haunted Hallway is open to ages 6 and older at 6 to 9 p.m. and costs 50 cents. 633-1600.
The North Las Vegas Police Department, North Mesa Plaza, Wal-Mart and Albertson's present Safe Halloween Night at 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 1807 W. Craig Road. Admission is free. 633-1556.
Henderson's Farmers' Market hosts its 4th Annual Safe Trick-or-Treat & Spook Alley at 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday on Water Street in downtown Henderson. Streets will be closed to traffic for the activities. Admission is free. 566-2993.

The blues sounds of Bobby Jonz begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at a Halloween Masquerade Ball at Happy Harry's Eatery, 4469 W. Flamingo Road. Prizes will be awarded for best costume. Proceeds benefit the scholarship and mentoring programs of 100 Black Men of America Inc. Admission is $25. 313-5255.
