The latest edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index was kind to UNLV, as the Rebels checked in at second and 42nd, respectively, in the men's and women's rankings announced Tuesday.
The Rebels men held their position after a fourth-place finish at the rain-shortened Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate. The women, however, moved up 12 positions, improving from 54th to a program-best 42nd.
"I am happy with that," UNLV women's coach Missy Ringler said. "This team is young, and we continue to work hard to improve on the national scene."
Ringler's Rebels earned their highest-ever ranking after posting their best-ever finish, a sixth-place effort at the Mercedes-Benz Women's Intercollegiate.
