I can't help but wonder what's next on the liberal agenda. Once the institutional standard of marriage is breached, shall we be allowed to have more than one wife or husband? You may want to marry your brother or sister. Instead of adopting a child, you could marry the child.
The line in the sand is drawn here -- one man married to one woman. That is the standard for marriage, and if you can't see the common sense logic behind this, then I suggest you seek remedial counseling.
