Candidates for state attorney general, Congress and the Clark County School Board will discuss their views on education funding at an open forum tonight at 6:30 at Johnson Junior High School, 7701 Ducharme Ave.
The event was coordinated by parent groups concerned about the ongoing funding crisis for Clark County's schools and the impact on public education. Candidates will be given time to introduce themselves, explain their positions on education-related matters and answer questions from the audience.
Candidates expected to attend are Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., and her Republican challenger, Las Vegas City Councilwoman Lynette Boggs McDonald; attorney general candidates John Hunt and Brian Sandoval; candidates for the School Board District F seat, incumbent Susan Brager and challenger Mitchell Tracy; and congressional candidates Jon Porter and Dario Herrera.
