General public can get flu vaccine
The Clark County Health District has opened its flu shot clinics to the general public. Previously the immunization had only been available to those categorized as at-risk for complications from the illness.
Flu shots will be offered from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at these locations:
Ravenholt Public Health Center, 625 Shadow Lane; East Las Vegas Public Health Center, 560 N. Nellis Blvd.; Henderson Public Health Center, 129 W. Lake Mead Blvd.; and North Las Vegas Public Health Center, 1820 E. Lake Mead Blvd.
People eligible for free vaccine through Medicare or Medicaid must present an insurance card. For those not eligible under their insurance plan the cost is $15 for the flu immunization.

Lake Mead Hospital offers flu shots
Free flu shots will be offered Thursday on a first-come, first- served basis by Lake Mead Hospital Medical Center to members of the Premier Advantage program.
The shots will be dispensed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 3485 E. Lake Mead Blvd.
Lake Mead Hospital will have 400 flu shots to dispense. Questions about the flu shots can be directed to Cindy Whitt, director of Volunteer/Senior Services for Lake Mead Hospital.
Premier Advantage is a free program for adults ages 55 and older. Membership provides discounts on prescriptions, glasses and hearing aids from participating vendors and offers direct hospital benefits such as free pharmacy counseling and free health screenings.
CCSD East Region sets public meeting
The Clark County School District's East Region will hold a town hall/public input meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Valley High School, 2839 S. Burnham Ave., near Eastern and Sahara avenues.
Parents of students attending a school in the East Region, as well as other community members, are encouraged to attend the meeting and address region activities, programs and issues with East Region administration.
The meeting is the first of three town hall/public input meetings the region plans to hold during this school year.
The East Region is one of five regions within the Clark County School District, currently including 52 elementary, middle, high and alternative schools.
The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas
Business and Profession Division invites the public to attend a luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Paris Las Vegas, featuring keynote speaker Robin Leach. RSVP by calling 732-0556.

at the fourth annual Nevada Day festivities from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, 500 E. Washington Ave. at Las Vegas Boulevard North. Call 486-3511.
