Election 2002: Assembly District 12

Assemblywoman Genie Ohrenschall, a Democrat, has no opponent in the general election and needs just one vote to win re-election.

Her district is sandwiched between Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard east of Las Vegas Boulevard.

Ohrenschall is an attorney and businesswoman who has served for four terms. She was vice chairwoman of the Transportation Committee in 2001.

There are more than 15,500 registered voters in the district. Among them are more than 8,100 Democrats and more than 4,600 Republicans.
