Trump names executive

Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 | 11:11 a.m.

ATLANTIC CITY -- Gaming industry veteran Paul R. Ryan has been named head of the Trump Marina Hotel Casino, a position vacated this month when the former chief operating officer took a job with the rival casino next door.

Ryan, 46, said he will continue the "Wild Side" marketing program that reinvigorated the property and gave it an image that proved more popular with younger gamblers.

The Trump casino faces intense pressure from a new billion-dollar competitor, the Borgata casino, which also hopes to attract younger customers when it opens next summer.

Former Trump executive Larry Mullin joined the Borgata's executive staff last week.
