Elvira Catanzaro
Elvira Catanzaro, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born April 20, 1924, in Lodi, N.J. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired factory worker.
She is survived by one daughter, Doreen Ann; two sons, Joseph Catanzaro of Las Vegas and Anthony Catanzaro of Coral Gables, Fla.; one sister, Sadie Prezioso of New York; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Myrtle Chatfield
Myrtle Chatfield, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 31, 1917, in Rugby, N.D. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired electronics technician, a theatrical wardrobe designer for 20 years and a member of Stagehands Local 720.
She is survived by three sons, Duane Sveum of South Dakota, Dennis Sveum of St. Louis and Steve Chatfield of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sandra Chatfield of Las Vegas; two sisters, Olga McCormack and Thelma Bennett, both of California; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Joseph Millard Council
Joseph Millard Council, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 12, 1934, in Longview, Texas. A resident for 43 years, he was an upholstery shop owner and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Raye Jefferson and Josette Smith, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Larry Lee and Kenneth Lee, both of Houston; one brother, Wesley Whitehead of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services. A private burial will follow.
Dorthy Mallette
Dorthy Mallette, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 9, 1935, in California. A resident for 40 years, she was a waitress for 35 years in Las Vegas and active in helping the less fortunate.
She is survived by four children, Charee Malmedal, Kathleen Larason, Martin Walsh and Patricia Frank, and her mother, Janette Vanden Bosch, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Carol Wallace of San Diego and Beverly Pond of Las Vegas.
Contact the family for information concerning Dorthy's memorial service. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.
Ruth Ann Mastrodonato
Ruth Ann Mastrodonato, 72, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born July 7, 1930, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Dominick; three daughters, Mary Rose Mastrodonato of Las Vegas, Laura Mastrodonato of Henderson and Linda Flateau of Portland, Ore.; one son, Michael Mastrodonato, and two sisters, Marion Sutherland and Francis Wild, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Augustine Mazzo of East Rochester; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Linda McCombs
Linda McCombs, 55, of Nevada died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born June 30, 1947, in California. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne McCombs and Bobby McCombs; two daughters, Terri Dillard and Jerri McCombs; her mother, Thelma Jewell; one sister, Sharon Phillips; and six grandchildren.
Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Mary C. Portocarrero
Mary C. Portocarrero, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Massachusetts. A resident for one year, she was an escrow officer.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur J. Portocarrero and Jim Strelo; two daughters, Laura Strelo and Michelle Portocarrero; two sisters, Cynthia Gonsalves and Geraldine Cardoza; and two grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Carole S. Saffier
Carole S. Saffier, 60, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Philadelphia. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired office manager.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Adelman of Davis, Calif.; two sons, Steven Saffier of Philadelphia and Michael Saffier of Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, Allen Brooks of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Harry True
Harry True, 56, of Las Vegas died Oct. 4 in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Georgetown, Ky. A resident for eight years, he was a retired courier and a member of the Boys and Girls Club.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Elizabeth Ostuni of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Angela Tucker and Kimberly True-Pegueros, both of Las Vegas; his stepmother, Judy True of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Jean Anter of Tampa, Fla.; one stepbrother, Wayne Tucker of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a noon service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Bernardine A. Volz
Bernardine A. Volz, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 30, 1925, in Trempleau, Wis. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired cake decorating instructor and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by three sons.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; four daughters, Donna Marie of Oregon, Barbara of Oklahoma, Susan of California and Laurie of Utah; three sons, Daniel of Utah and Russell and Allen, both of Nevada; one sister, Phyllis of California; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Barbara White
Barbara White, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 28, 1931, in Utica, N.Y. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sisters, Rose Abraham of Utica and Josephine Zaloom of Las Vegas; and one brother, Joe Joseph of Utica.
