Brand expanding in Las Vegas

Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 | 11:11 a.m.

At least three former Mobil dealers in Las Vegas have switched to the Sinclair Oil Corp. brand in recent weeks following a decision by ExxonMobil Corp. to stop paying rebates to more than 100 Mobil dealers -- including 30 in Clark County.

In Business Las Vegas, a sister publication to the Las Vegas Sun, reported in its Oct. 11 edition that oil and hotel baron Earl Holding's Sinclair Oil, based in Salt Lake City, said it's selling fuel to three former Mobil-branded stations at 4730 W. Cheyenne Ave., 3280 S. Decatur Blvd. and 1625 N. Lamb Blvd.

Sinclair, which aims to have at least five stations in the Las Vegas area by the first quarter of next year, has more than 2,600 company and distributor stations nationwide including several in Northern Nevada and one existing station at 4480 E. Cheyenne Ave. in North Las Vegas.
