Operator sues Fallon store

Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 | 11:19 a.m.

Las Vegas locals' gambling giant Station Casinos Inc. sued in U.S. District Court to stop a Fallon convenience store and gaming business from operating under the Station trademark.

Churchill Station was accused of capitalizing on Station's reputation when it opened a casino area with slot machines on West William Avenue in the Northern Nevada town of Fallon, and put up signage bearing the Station name.

Station said Churchill Station's manager failed to stop using the Station name even after he was issued a cease and desist letter by Station's attorney on July 25.

Churchill Station officials could not be reached for comment on Station's allegations.
