Letter: What can stop Bush’s obsession with Iraq war?

The secretary of defense has called for the assassination of Iraq's ruler as a cost-cutting measure, and it would save billions of dollars. But under the new and broader definition of terrorism, isn't this a terrorist act? Wouldn't this make Rummy a sponsor of terrorism and the U.S. a terrorist nation?

A few years back a namby-pamby Congress passed a bill, signed into law by a wimpy president, that prohibits using assassination as a tool for implementing foreign policy. George Bush II has demanded that Congress free his hands by passing a resolution that authorizes him to do whatever he sees fit in executing his aggression against Iraq. And he wants that done pronto.

Will this resolution authorize King George to abrogate any and all laws and treaties that stand in the way of his obsession for finishing the job Poppa left undone?
