Gragson services Friday

Services for former Las Vegas Mayor Oran K. Gragson are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive, with visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Gragson, mayor from 1959 to 1977, died Monday in Las Vegas at the age of 91.
He was born Feb. 14, 1911, in Tucumcari, N.M. A resident for 70 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a furniture company, a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles, Friends of Youth, Daylite Lodge 44, Scottish Rite and Zelzah Shrine, past president of the Nevada League of Cities, past chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and chairman of the Downtown Progress Association.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Shirley Aranda of Phoenix; one son, Kenneth R. Gragson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Gragson will be buried in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
