Woman, child reported missing

Metro Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 20-year-old woman who disappeared Monday with a 2-year-old girl.

Missing Persons Sgt. Tom Wagner said Quejanae Hatter's mother gave the girl to her mother to watch on Monday. The girl's grandmother, who is homeless, gave Quejanae to May.

May was seen getting into a white pickup truck about 2:30 p.m. in the 400 block of East Charleston Boulevard.

Some homeless men who know May told police they saw her between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard between Charleston and Oakey boulevards.

May goes "from downtown hotel to downtown hotel," Wagner said.

Police officers spoke to Quejenae's mother, but Wagner said she hasn't been cooperative.

May is described as white, 5'8,' and 140 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Quejanae is described as black, 26 inches tall and 30 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wagner at 813-6789, the Missing Persons Detail at 229-2907 or Metro Police at 229-3111.

Feds give county aviation $35 million

The Clark County Department of Aviation's annual budgetary requests to the Federal Aviation Administration were funded for $35 million.

The federal funds will underwrite capital improvements and repay some of the money spent on new security measures at McCarran International Airport, as well as reliever airports in North Las Vegas, Henderson and Overton.

Clark County's funding from the FAA has averaged between $12 million and $20 million a year, but additional funds were awarded this year to offset security improvements, such as new bomb detecting machines and bomb-sniffing dogs.

In addition, the Transportation Department has awarded the county more than $12 million to enhance safety and acquire land at Nevada airports.

McCarran will receive $4 million for reconstruction of terminal aprons, and Henderson Sky Harbor Airport is receiving more than $6 million to acquire 27.5 acres of land. North Las Vegas Airport is receiving roughly $1.6 million for taxiway construction and the acquisition of about 18 acres of land.

Missouri fugitive arrested in LV

Detectives from the Metro Police Fugitive Detail arrested a 25-year-old man on Friday who was wanted for burglary in Missouri.

David Davis was taken into custody in the 3900 block of Paradise Road with minor resistance, Metro Sgt. Dan Flaherty said Monday.

He was sentenced to 14 years in prison two years ago in Missouri for being a habitual residential burglar, but failed to report to jail to serve his sentence, Flaherty said.

Metro arrested Davis several times under different names, but he would bail out before fingerprints could be submitted to the FBI lab in Washington, Flaherty said.

A "most wanted" bulletin aired on local television last month and a viewer led police to his whereabouts Friday.
