CHICAGO -- Mayor Richard Daley has begun a preliminary investigation into the possibility of a casino for Chicago, City Hall sources told the Chicago Tribune on Sunday.
"He is making inquiries to look at it," said one official who asked not to be identified.
The city's worsening financial picture apparently has prompted Daley's interest in researching the pros and cons of a land-based gaming operation in Chicago.
