Melvin Bloom

Melvin Bloom, 80, of Henderson died Sept. 25 in Henderson. Born June 16, 1922, in Denver, he was a nightclub owner and a real estate salesman.

He is survived by one son, Steven Wayne Bloom of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two daughters, Mitzie Bloom of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jose M. Cardenas

Jose M. Cardenas, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Cisneros Antioquia, Colombia. A resident for 11 years, he was a utility warehouse porter.

He is survived by his wife, Lourdes; and two daughters, Salome Cardenas of Arlington, Texas, and Diana Cardenas of Littleton, Colo.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Michael J. Csizmadia

Michael J. Csizmadia, 49, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1953, in Pontiac, Mich. A resident for 20 years, he was a senior vice-president of a design engineering company.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; one son, Timothy Csizmadia of Las Vegas; his parents, Joanne and James Csizmadia of Waterford, Mich.; two sisters, Susan Wadenstorer of Dexter, Mich., and Sherree Csizmadia-Hasan of Flint, Mich.; and one brother, Mark Csizmadia of Lake Orion, Mich.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, 1201 W. Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89106.

Jess H. 'Bud' Davis

Jess H. "Bud" Davis, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 14, 1923, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 46 years, he was a field administrator for EG&G and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dola; four sons, Max Davis of Las Vegas, Charles S. Davis of Hackensack, N.J., Larry Davis of Logandale and Jess Davis of Overton; three daughters, Vicki Johnston of Hanford, Calif., Alice Haddow of Gainsville, Va., and Gayle Barnes of Sydney, Australia; 33 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Frances Greenwald

Frances Greenwald, 97, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in an assisted living center. Born May 2, 1905, she was an entertainer, and a member of the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA.

She is survived by one son, Sanford Tucker; one daughter, Joyce Tucker; one sister, Lillian Buchwitz; and two grandchildren.

Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Shirley Christine Grimes

Shirley Christine Grimes, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 13, 1943, in New York. A resident for eight years, she was a retired telephone operator, and a member of Pioneers of AT&T.

She is survived by her husband, Dean; one son, Dean Jr.; three daughters, Sheryl, Karen and Tracy; one sister, Julia; and 10 grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial is pending.

Edwing G. Growth

Edwing G. Growth, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1925, in St. Louis. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired quality control supervisor in the brewing industry, and World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, William Edwin Groth of Kenosha, Wis., John Ernest Groth of Long Beach, Calif., and James Michael Groth, Newbury Park, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Harold Hahn

Harold Hahn, 74, of Pahrump died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1928, in Lampasas, Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired inventory controller and World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two sisters, Gladys Ylzman of Las Vegas and Charlene Hahn of Texas; and two brothers, Walter Hahn of Las Vegas and Charles Hahn of Texas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Thelma Lucinda Hammond

Thelma Lucinda Hammond, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Rock Springs, Calif. She was born April 21, 1912, in Adamson, Okla. A resident for 18 years, she was a central service technician.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Cox of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Frieda Turley of Henderson; one sister, Virginia Osselton of Green River, Wyo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the LDS Spring Mountain Ward, followed by burial in Bellevue Cemetery.

Larry Hatcher

Larry Hatcher, 60, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Texas. A resident for 27 years, he was a health physicist, Vietnam War Army veteran, and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; one daughter, Tiffany Lintow, and one son, Shannon Hatcher, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, Pahrump.

Marvin B. Herrin

Marvin B. Herrin, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Asher, Okla. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and World War II veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Michael Herrin, and one daughter, Patricia Herrin, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Mildred Warner of Oklahoma; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

George Michael Lee

George Michael Lee, 48, of Las Vegas died Sept. 11 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1954, in San Francisco. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired kitchen worker and Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife; Sanda A.; two daughters, Sharon Lee of Los Angeles and Andreana Lee of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sons, Ellehew Lee of Bakersfield and Michael George Lee Jr., of Las Vegas; his father, Dan McKennery of Linwood; three brothers, Rory E. Lee, Willie E. McKennery and Dan McKennery, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Donna J. Jones of Riverside Calif., and Cheryl Tharps and Danielle M. Jones, both of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Lillie Haney of Llano, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. graveside services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Betty M. Rendina

Betty M. Rendina, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 26, 1932, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired county government executive secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; one daughter, Gina Soules of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Benjamin L. Resmann

Benjamin L. Resmann, 26, of San Diego died Sept. 25 in San Diego. He was born Sept. 29, 1975, in St. Louis. A former resident of Las Vegas he was a special events manager.

He is survived by his parents, Michael J. and Louise Resmann of Highland, Ill.; four brothers, Jeremy M. Resmann of St. Louis and Josh W. Resmann, Matthew J. Resmann and Zachary J. Resmann, all of Highland; and his grandmother, Pauline Resmann of Fairmont City, Ill.

Services will be held in Highland. Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Anna Rouvas

Anna Rouvas, 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1953, in Kastoria Greece. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Yianni Rouvas, three daughters, Maria Rouvas, Kalliopi Rouvas and Keri Oliveras-Rouvas, her mother, Kaliopi Tzelalis, one brother, Steve Tzelalis, two sisters, Antonia Tzelalis and Vaso Tzelalis; and her grandmother, Eleni Eliades, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 7 p.m. prayer service Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Mary E. Willig

Mary E. Willig, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Greensboro, N.C. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired vocational nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy May Ferguson of San Diego; one sister, Maude Lou Garner of North Carolina; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

William F. 'Woody' Woodward

William F. "Woody" Woodward, 57, died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident resident, he was a retired master electrician and a member of IBEW Local 357, Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Board of Review Committee & Order of the Arrow, Veterans of Foreign Wars, NRA and American Legion.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Robert Yepson

Robert Yepson, 66, of Pahrump died Thursday in Pahrump. He was born May 24, 1936, in Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; five daughters, Kathy Phillips and Michelle Yepson, both of Washington, Patricia Etchels of Arizona and Monique Waddell of California; three sons, Steven Gall and Kenneth Yepson, both of Las Vegas, and Scott Yepson of Guam; and 13 grandchildren.

A rosary is scheduled 10 a.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive.

The family suggests donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Society.

Joel C. Zander

Joel C. Zander, 85, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born July 31, 1917, in Des Moine, Iowa. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired communications technician, World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, former state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, former Henderson Police Reserve lieutenant and a former photographer for Basic Photo in Henderson.

He is survived by is wife, Helen; one daughter, Elsa Brackenridge of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
