A Las Vegas man has announced he intends to plead guilty to second-degree murder in the strangulation death of his sister.
Deputy District Attorney Brian Rutledge said Brad McCullough waived his right to a preliminary hearing this morning in Las Vegas Justice Court and will formally enter a guilty plea before District Judge Joseph Bonaventure Oct. 14.
As a result of his guilty plea, McCullough, 49, will serve a life sentence with parole possible after 17 years, Rutledge said. The defendant also pleaded guilty to kidnapping and coercion.
Keri D. McCullough, 36, was found July 29 in a Dumpster at an apartment complex in the 5400 block of West Cheyenne Avenue near Michael Way.
"We don't know the motive, but we do know they had a contentious relationship," Rutledge said.
