Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 | 9:45 a.m.
If you intend to vote on Nov. 5, you must register before 9 p.m. Saturday.
The Clark County Registrar of Voters says people who have not registered by then cannot vote in the general election.
People can register to vote at the Clark County Election Department, any city clerk's office, the Department of Motor Vehicles or with a field registrar. On Saturday field registrars will be set up at shopping malls.
Applications to register by mail are available at the Election Department, post offices, many utility companies, libraries, political party headquarters, chambers of commerce and some banks. Applications also can be downloaded from the registrar's website (www.co.clark.nv.us/election).
Mail-in applications must be postmarked no later than Oct. 5.
To register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 by Election Day, a Clark County resident for 30 consecutive days and must not have been legally declared insane. Convicted felons cannot register to vote unless their civil rights have been restored by a court.
