Letter: Thank the Republicans for dismal economy
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 | 9:07 a.m.
How lucky we are to have the Republicans in control of the White House and the House of Representatives. Yes, the Democrats control the Senate by a huge one-vote majority but, truly, the Republicans are in charge.
So we can thank them for an economy that is down the tubes, a stock market that keeps going lower and lower, an increase in poverty and home foreclosures, a decline in the average annual income and the possibility of a war in Iraq that could end up involving the entire Middle East.
Meanwhile, our president is raising more campaign funds than any other president in history, all the while inferring that to question his policies is to be un-American and/or unpatriotic. This really makes me want to vote Republican in the upcoming election.
