Marvin G. Bennett

Marvin G. Bennett, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, he owned a manufacturing company.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Carl Royster and Mathew Royster; six daughters, Paulette Wightman, Sacha Monshaw, Shonna Royster, Patricia Bennett and Ressa Royster; one brother, Phil Bennett; one sister, Joan Gilchrist; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at noon Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

Joseph Charles Blasko

Joseph Charles Blasko, 67, of New Harmony, Utah, died Tuesday in New Harmony. He was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Pittsburgh. A former resident of Las Vegas for 18 years, he was a former Metro Police detective, an avid fisherman, who loved to snow ski and work out with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; two sons, Keith Blasko of Las Vegas and Michael Blasko of Henderson; one daughter, Jennifer Blasko of Las Vegas; his mother, and one sister, Joanne Krebbs, both of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 N. 300 West, Cedar City, Utah, is handling arrangements.

Manuel V. Fernandez

Manuel V. Fernandez, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Mexico. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired carpenter, World War II and Korean War Army veteran, and a member of the Carpenters Union.

He is survived by one son, Alonzo Fernandez, and one daughter, Zandra Linton, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Connie, Laura and Mary; two brothers, Nick and Joseph; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.

Bernard Herron

Bernard Herron, 50, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Dallas. A resident for nine years, he was a driver for a disposal company, Marine Corps veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 631, Masons and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by four daughters, Shahshaa' Herron of Sacramento and D'Ayshia Herron, Datyana Herron and Shamieka Herron, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Bernard Herron of Oregon, Delvonte'e Herron of Las Vegas and Lemar Herron and Dominic Herron, both of Sacramento; and one stepsister, Judy Roberts of Dallas.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Chapel, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.

DeLayne P. Johnson

DeLayne P. Johnson, 30, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 2, 1972, in Washington state. A resident for four years, he was a hotel mechanical engineer.

He is survived by his companion, Wendy Lee Waterfall; four sons, Kyren Kenneth Johnson, LaRenzo Marque Waterfall, Darian Kental Waterfall and Donte James Waterfall; his father, Elisha Johnson; his mother, Kelli Smith; one brother, Elisha Johnson III; and two sisters, Mahalia Walker and Nicole Johnson.

Private services are scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Michael Terry Kizzia

Michael Terry Kizzia, 54, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born May 7, 1948, in Henderson. A lifelong resident, he was a customer service worker and Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Stacy Hopster-Filippi of Henderson and Robin Peltier of Las Vegas; his mother, Essie L. Kizzia of Henderson; two sisters, Olene Holley and Pat Rush, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Leonora La Torre

Leonora La Torre, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 1, 1909, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired actress and singer.

She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Perez De Tagle of Chino Hills, Calif., and Susan Flores of Manila; three sons, Ronaldo La Torre of Manila and George La Torre and Roger La Torre, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Gualberto Reyes of Manila; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Paul Sansardo

Paul Sansardo, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired truck driver, World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by one son, Daniel A. Sansardo of Orange County, Calif.; two daughters, Nancy Kittell or Orange County and Shari Witkowski of Chicago; two sisters, Margaret Duzan of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Pauline Belak of Albuquerque; and one grandchild.

Daniel Shaughnessy

Daniel Shaughnessy, 20, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Utah. He was born July 29, 1982, in Henderson. A resident for 20 years, he was a food service worker.

He is survived by his parents, Nani and Ray Shaughnessy, and one brother, Douglas Shaughnessy, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Young Kwang Church, 2200 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Clifford P. Ziegler

Clifford P. Ziegler, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 17, 1922, in Philadelphia. A resident for 26 years, he was a truck driver, and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne E.; two daughters, Linda J. Rasmussen and Robin D. Herndon, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
