Forecaster likes Pines, McQueen in semifinals

Ever get the feeling you plugged one hole in the ship just in time to see the next one burst open? That's about how this prep forecaster feels after last weekend's region championships.

We finally wised up and hopped on the Palo Verde bandwagon, just in time for the scorching Panthers to roll through Cheyenne. Of course, just as we did, Desert Pines made us look silly with its whipping of Las Vegas. Three weeks ago, we chose the Jaguars when they lost to the Wildcats. We reversed course this time, with equally poor results.

The biggest item on my to-do list today is "digest turkey," so enjoy this abbreviated version of our picks ...
