Columnist Barb Henderson: Ready, get set, go shopping!

Traditionally, the day after Thanksgiving begins the holiday shopping season.
For the outdoors enthusiast, that usually will include a few trips to sporting good stores in quest of the perfect gift for that special sportsman/woman on the holiday gift list.
With a variety of stores, a shopping excursion in search of holiday gifts for those who love the outdoors should be an adventurous journey.
For the most part, sporting goods stores are listed in the phone book. Two additional stores can be added to the list: Galyan's at the Galleria at Sunset in Henderson and the Sport Chalet at 8825 West Charleston Boulevard.
Both stores offer an assortment of products for outdoor recreational activities.
Hunters and anglers might be able to bag their limits with holiday gifts, given the wide range of hunting and fishing products at Galyan's.
Shopping at Galyan's can be quite an adventure within the 84,000 square feet and more than 90,000 outdoor/adventure products.
While inside, check out the 46-foot rock climbing wall, which allows store visitors a sense of adventure as they experience the thrill of being a rock climber.
The Sport Chalet has products for exploring rough terrain and hiking the trail, as well as a variety of other outdoor activities.
Anglers might be able to reel in some great gifts from the fishing department as they discover each hook, line and sinker available at the Sport Chalet.
Perhaps this holiday season, it might be fun to map out a shopping expedition and explore every sporting goods store in the area. Think of all the wonderful and exciting holiday gift ideas each store might offer.
If your time is somewhat limited due to a busy holiday schedule, a gift certificate can be an easy and wonderful solution.
By giving a gift certificate you open a window of opportunity for the gift recipient to do the exploring.
By the way, this might jingle a few bells -- there are only 26 days left 'til Christmas.
