Walter A. Bach

Walter A. Bach, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Augusta, Ky. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired Army sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Uniform Services.

He is survived by his wife, Nam; two daughters, Monica Weaver of Kentucky and Lisa Kim of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Bach of Clovis, Calif., and Daniel Bach of Grass Valley, Calif.; one sister, Mary Helen Kelsch, and one brother, Marvin Bach, both of Augusta; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Prince L. 'Lu' Blount

Prince L. "Lu" Blount, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Philadelphia. A resident for 32 years, he was retired from the aerospace industry and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three brothers, Judge Lynwood F. Blount, Harry T. Blount and Jessie Johnson.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Kathleen F. Carroll

Kathleen F. Carroll, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by her husband Willian Carroll; one son, William Carroll Jr., five daughters, Kathleen Carroll, Arlene Needleman, Patricia Carroll, Linda Silvia and Helene Winjum, and two brothers, John Foley and Michael Kathleen F. Carroll, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Ferrante of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, followed by burial.

Ruth B. Daniluk

Ruth B. Daniluk, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two brothers, Joseph Kavinsky and Edward Kavinsky, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m to noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by services at 1 p.m. in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.

John A. Davidson

John A. Davidson, 78, of Pahrump died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1924, in Fresno, Calif. A lifelong resident, he was a retired electrician, World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the IBEW Local No. 357.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M.; one son, Jerry Davidson of Tonopah; one daughter, Barbara Deck of Henderson; one sister, Doris Ceccerelli of Dos Palos, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Alva Everett Dearing

Alva Everett Dearing, 80, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Pyote, Texas. A resident for 57 years, he was a retired automobile and aircraft mechanic and a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boy Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie; one son, Ricky Dearing, and three daughters, Emily Volk, Jo Ann Dearing and Dian Campbell, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Frieda Schuler and Jean Roberts, both of Tehachapi, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Louise Dicato

Louise Dicato, 80, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 7, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; three sons, Joseph Dicato Jr., of Glendale, Calif., Thomas Dicato of Crofton, Md., and Robert Dicato of Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Linda Henson of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Yolanda Edwards

Yolanda Edwards, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Chicago. A resident for seven years, she was a retired office manager.

She is survived by two daughters, Angela Edwards-Craig and Dr. Cheryl Edwards, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Victor Howell of Chicago.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Edna S. Frehner

Edna S. Frehner, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Meadow Valley Wash. A lifelong Southern Nevada resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Angela Zobrist, Frances Cox and Edna Lynne Watts, and one son, Rex Frehner, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Tom Steele; three sisters, Josephine Bosta of Reno, Mary Belle Marich of Ruth and Edith Brundy of Maine; 23 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m services Friday in the LDS Silverado Ward, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Olive Katherine Friedrichs

Olive Katherine Friedrichs, 88, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born July 18, 1914, in Bloomington, Utah. A longtime resident, she was a child-care worker, and a member of the Boulder City Women's Club, Civil Air Patrol, Boulder City Kitchen Band and the Downs Towers Association, and was a foster grandparent.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Friedrichs of Las Vegas and Carl Friedrichs of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.

Trinidad M. Gittleman

Trinidad M. Gittleman, 31 of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1970, in Agat, Guam. A resident for four years, she was a purchasing clerk.

She is survived by her husband, Chad M.; two sons, Victor Rubio Jr., and Steven Teding, and her parents, Julia and Francis Osgood, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Doris Manglona, Linda Handy Marie Midkiff and Trisia Osgood of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Frankie Manglona, Allan San Nicholas and John Peter San Nicholas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Virginia Mary Globokar

Virginia Mary Globokar, 74, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Cleveland. A resident for 15 years, she was a cook.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; two sons, Edward Globokar of Rye, N.Y., and John Globokar of Cleveland; three daughters, Charmaine Reiter of Rye and Terry Trett and Lorraine Rohde, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Robert Del Grosso of Euclid, Ohio, and George Del Grosso and Kenneth Del Grosso, both of Chardon, Ohio; one sister, Melissa Del Grosso of Euclid; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Miriam Gordon

Miriam Gordon, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1926, in New York City. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker and active in many community organizations and was an avid antique collector.

She is survived by her husband, David; two sons, Gerald Gordon and Marc Gordon, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10:40 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Chapel, Boulder City.

William Peter Helfrich Sr.

William Peter Helfrich Sr., 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1932, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired consultant for a management company and a Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by five daughters, Kate Helfrich of Sacramento, J.J. Dickinson of Raf Croughton, England, Martha Helfrich of New York City, Gretchen Helfrich of Chicago and Stephanie Helfrich of San Francisco; two sons, Peter Helfrich of Boston and Sam Helfrich of New York City; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Brigitte Labo, 61, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 7, 1941, in Liepzig, Germany. A resident for 32 years, she was a cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Jessie; one daughter, Jacquie Williams of Las Vegas; two sons, Ken Carlson of Las Vegas and Rene Labo of St. George, Utah; and five grandchildren.

Dolores 'Sassy' Ligotti

Dolores "Sassy" Ligotti, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 30, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired cashier.

She was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Ligotti. She is survived by one son, Larry Ligotti of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Margo Victoria Manton

Margo Victoria Manton, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Patterson, N.J. A resident for four years, she was a manufacturer representative.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Manton of Las Vegas; her mother, Elizabeth Cavagnaro of Grenich, Conn.; one brother, Peter Cavagnaro of Woodstock, Conn.; one sister, Sandra Cavagnaro of Portland, Ore.; and one grandchild.

James E. Martin

James E. Martin, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born July 24, 1919, in Lowell, Mass. A resident for 55 years, he was a retired bartender, World War II Army Air Corps veteran, and a member of the Italian American Club.

He is survive by his wife, Lani; one daughter, Kimberly Freeman of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Nancy Sue Mason

Nancy Mason, 61, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. She was born July 20, 1941, in Indiana. A resident for five years, she was a retired teaching assistant in special education, a member of PEO Chapter K, and a volunteer with Lend a Hand of Boulder City.

She is survived by her husband, Howard; one son, Gerry Mason of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter, Heather Ripley of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Donna Ross, Dorothy Cox and Doris Jones, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Frieda; two daughters, Jane McGuff of Boston and Patricia Martin-Schneider of St. Francisville, La.; three sons, Paul-Martin McGuff of New Orleans, Paul-Charles McGuff of Austin, Texas, and Michael McGuff of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Richard F. Reilly, 76, of Boulder City died Thursday in Boulder City. He was born July 10, 1926, in Portland, Maine. A resident for 13 years, he was a World War II, Vietnam War and Korean War Air Force veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Senior Air Force Sergeants Association.

He is survived by one sister, Patricia Ducharme of Boulder City.

Tharin 'Terry' Ross

Tharin "Terry" Ross, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 1961, in Puerto Rico. A lifelong resident, he was a computer technician.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; two sons, Aaron and Austin; five daughters, Breanna, Brittany, Stephanie, Sarah, and Hannah; his mother, Brenda Bradberry; his father and stepmother, Shane and Sue Ross; one brother, Lonny Weisman; and one sister, Barbara Ross.

George Henry Schwartz Jr.

George Henry Schwartz Jr., 53, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 13, 1949, in Las Vegas. A resident for 40 years, he was a cabdriver and a past member of Glasier Local 201.

He is survived by two sons, George Schwartz III of Las Vegas and Gregory Schwartz of Phoenix; his mother, Amelia Schwartz, and two brothers, Joseph Schwartz and Robert Schwartz, all of Las Vegas.

Janice D. Smalley, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born June 4, 1945, in Coal Center, Pa. A resident for 14 years, she was a casino slot floorwoman.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Santiwan and Adele Selsler, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Smalley of Las Vegas and James Smalley of Pennsylvania; two brothers, James Lunt of Las Vegas and John Lunt of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Vivian Hover and Susan Duda, both of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.

Patrick Michael Spagnuolo

Patrick Michael Spagnuolo, 78, of Lass Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 19, 1924, in Holland, Mich. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired painter, World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Painters Union.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; two sons, George Spagnuolo and Jeff Spagnuolo, two daughters, Lin Spagnuolo and Jeni Spagnuolo, and one brother, Frank Spagnuolo, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lillian Dielkey of Las Vegas and Jeannette Sprywa of Bay City, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Phuc Voong, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 10, 1924, in Vietnam. A resident for two months, he was a fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Day; two sons, Hung Voong and Minh Voong, both of Las Vegas; five daughters, Lisa Voong of Denver and Jeanie Voong, Kim Voong, Ngan Voong and Buu Voong, all of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Peggy Lou Wallace

Peggy Lou Wallace, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Port Huron, Mich. A resident for five years, she was a retired Army nurse and World War II veteran.

She is survived by her husband, George; three sons, Daniel Chaffee of Turlock, Calif., and David Chaffee and Richard Chaffee, both of Fresno, Calif.; one daughter, Denise Horowitz of Clovis, Calif.; one sister, Jeane Sexton of Michigan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Sammie A. Waller

Sammie A. Waller, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 7, 1925, Tennessee. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired electrician, World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Masonic Lodge 32, Scottish Rite, Zelzah Shrine, Order of Eastern Star, Captain of the Zelzah Patrol and IBEW 357.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Sherry Ledbetter of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; one son, James T. Waller of Las Vegas; one sister, Ovie Brown of Carthage, Tenn.; one brother, Wade Waller of Nashvillle, Tenn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Paul Weber of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Peggy Phillips and Dorothy Snawder, both of Kentucky.
