Las Vegas Area Fishing Report: Lake Mead anglers have success with stripers

Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks report that boaters on Lake Mead continue to have good success for stripers in the Overton Beach area around Fish Island. Anglers using anchovies as bait, landed 28 stripers that averaged 16 inches. Another angler using top-water lures was successful landing three largemouth bass that ranged from 2-3 pounds.
Shore anglers fishing Echo Bay found productive spots for stripers. One successful angler fishing with anchovies brought in six stripers that ranged from 16-18 inches.
Cottonwood Cove anglers report moderate success for striped bass. A few fish that averaged 16 inches were landed with anchovies.
NDOW was scheduled to stock Willow Beach on Thursday.
