Letter: Goodman does disservice to city
Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 | 8:54 a.m.
I heartily agree with letter writer Bud Weil's Nov. 11 assessment of Oscar Goodman as a failed mayor. As a 49-year resident of Las Vegas and Clark County, I have witnessed some great Nevada statesmen/stateswomen come and go.
I personally find Goodman's mayoral tactics oppressive, arrogant and egotistical. He is possessed with a monumental ego about the size of New York City, to where I hope he soon departs.
His conduct as our mayor leaves a lot to be desired. His social antics certainly do not set any moral standards for our university and college kids to emulate, and especially for those youngsters who will some day follow and govern our great city.
His political innuendos are boring, overstated and just so much blah-blah tripe. Goodman is a real do-nothing, limelight political ham.
Our city does not deserve his type of person as a representative. Its hard-working people are tired of his self-indulgence and his self-adorning media hype.
