Lights festival to open Nov. 26

The 14th annual Festival of Trees and Lights themed "Once Upon a Holiday" will open to the public at 4 p.m. Nov. 26 and run through Nov. 30 at Bally's Grand Ballrooms.

The event will offer entertainment, creative children's activities and daily visits by Santa Claus. There will also be treats and gifts to purchase.

The festival benefits the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada. Call 648-1990.

Art for Education set at Four Seasons

The Anthony L. Pollard Foundation will present its annual Art for Education event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Four Seasons hotel's Palm Room.

The free event, which is open to the public, will feature two evenings of fine art and sculpture, with proceeds benefiting Rainbow Dreams, a program of the foundation. Call 255-6659.

The fifth annual Hospitality Scholarship Ball

honoring Claudine Williams, Educator of the Year 2002, and the Nevada scholarship recipients, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in The Orleans' Mardi Gras Ballroom. The event is sponsored by the the Nevada Hospitality Foundation, Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association and Nevada Restaurant Association. Cocktail attire is requested. Call 878-2313 or 878-9272.
