Letter: If no taxes, deal with being last

I thought Brian Greenspun made a real terrific point in his Nov. 15 column: The important section, I quote in part: "On practically all matters of quality of life and quantity of happiness, Nevada was ranked at or near the bottom."

I see these occasional reports in the news all the time:

All the while government officials are routinely elected and re-elected by wide margins while these things go unattended.

I don't get it.

If nobody wants to address funding, taxes and essential government services, then we should accept our place at the bottom of the country's list and continue pretending everything's all right.
