Healthy food still scarce at Las Vegas airport

Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport ranked poorly in terms of its offerings of healthy food options for the second year in a row, an association of medical professionals reported today.
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine said a survey of restaurants serving the nation's busiest airports shows more than half the food outlets at McCarran still do not offer healthy food options -- defined as low-fat, high fiber and cholesterol-free meals.
The survey found that among the nation's 10 busiest airports, McCarran's restaurant options ranked it near the bottom at No. 8 for the second consecutive year with just 20 of 44 restaurants offering healthy food. San Francisco International Airport was No. 1 both years, with 25 of its 26 restaurants selling healthy meals.
