Alice Faye Aiken

Alice Faye Aiken, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Stigler, Okla. A resident for 21 years, she was a bus driver and a member of Moose Lodge 1763.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Hallmark of Wisconsin and Terry Prewitt of Las Vegas; two daughters, Cheryl Leanos and Terry Munaretto, both of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd.

Barney Eugene Davis

Barney Eugene Davis, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Missouri. A resident for 12 years, he was a school superintendent in California, a broker for Garfield Real Estate, a student-teacher supervisor at UNLV and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann; four sons, Daniel Davis of Visalia, Calif., David Davis of Lancaster, Calif., Donald Davis of Atwater, Calif., and Douglas Davis of Fresno, Calif.; four daughters, Anita Jacquline Duncan of Fremont, Calif., Margaret Mims of Fresno, Deborah Weldon of Seattle and Adrian White of Corona, Calif.; his mother, Etta Thomas, one brother, Gorman Davis, and one sister, Bonnie Forgey, all of Lebanon, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Herman 'Ham' Detrich

Herman "Ham" Detrich, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born March 9, 1921, in Detroit. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired tool and die manufacturer, a World War II Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by one brother, Gus Detrich of Southfield, Mich.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Carmella Drago

Carmella Drago, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Florida. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Michael Markovich Sr.; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private services.

J. Allan Dreibelbies

J. Allan Dreibelbies, 63, of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. He was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Pennsylvania. A resident for two years, he was a retired union carpenter and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell; one daughter, Denise Nye, and one son, Jack Dreibelbies, both of Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren.

Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the family to defray funeral expenses.

Etta Lund Estes

Etta Lund Estes, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Ohio. A resident for five years, she was a retired librarian in the aerospace industry and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

She is survived by one daughter, Terry Hamlin; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

James J. Flannigan

James J. Flannigan, 51, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 15, 1950, in Lennox Castle, Scotland. A resident for eight years, he was a furniture warehouseman.

He is survived by his wife, Katie; three sons, Billy Flannigan, Shawn Flannigan and Bobby Flannigan, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Margaret Flannigan of North Las Vegas; and one brother, Christopher Flannigan of Redondo Beach, Calif.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Arzella J. Fly

Arzella J. Fly, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 24, 1927, in Indiana. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Cecel; one daughter, Sonja; two brothers, Howard and Sammy; one sister, Wilma; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be arranged by Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Keith Hafen

Keith Hafen, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born June 13, 1927, in St. George, Utah. A lifelong resident, he was a retired government resident engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dora; three sons, Keith Arlo Hafen, Jerry Hafen and Steven Hafen, two daughters, Kristine Linebarger and Althea Owens, and one brother, Richard Hafen, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ellen Woods of Mesquite and Ann Olearian of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Alexander chapel, 8801 Alexander Road. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunkerville Cemetery.

William Norman Labadie Sr.

William Norman Labadie Sr., 67, of Palmdale, Calif., died Monday in Palmdale. He was born March 10, 1935, in Detroit. A former Las Vegas resident, he worked in the automobile and insurance industries.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; four sons, William Jr., Robert, Mark and Michael; three daughters, Diane, Susan and Michelle; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial Services are in California. Pierce Brothers/Griffin Mortuary, 101 E. Wilbur Road, Thousand Oaks, Calif., is handling arrangements.

Arshel H. Lang

Arshel H. Lang, 75, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1927, in St. George, Utah. A resident for 58 years, he was a retired painter in the construction industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie R.; one daughter, Arshelee Davis of Las Vegas; one son, Terrill Lang of La Palma, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Pickford and Anna Bundy, both of St. George, Utah; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Recto Madesta, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 8, 1916, in the Philippines. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

Elmer Malick

Elmer Malick, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Washington state. A resident for many years, he was a bar owner.

He is survived by one sister, Frances Lehleitner of Oregon; and two brothers, Lyle Malick and Mike Malick, both of Washington.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Carole E. McCormick

Carole E. McCormick, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 15, 1940, in Mendota, Ill. A resident for 14 years, she was secretary-treasurer of Silver State Components Inc.

She is survived by her husband, Edward K.; three sons, Terry L. McCormick of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lawrence S. McCormick of Las Vegas and Jerome P. McCormick of Steward, Ill.; one brother, Paul Betz of Compton, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Howard L. Newton

Howard L. Newton, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 21, 1918, in Roanoke, Va. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired insurance agent and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Cheryl Dethlefsen of Tower Lakes, Ill., and Janice Mahn of Flemington, N.J.; two sons, Howard Newton Jr. of Kingston, N.J., and Timothy Newton of Kerhonkson, N.Y.; six sisters, Evelyn Showalter of Roanoke, Va., Doris Morrow and Lydia Deafenbaugh, both of Virginia Beach, Va., Peggy Iannolo of San Diego, Jane Loggins of Summerfield, N.C., and Bunny Estes of Colonial Heights, Va.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Connie Ray and Zoe Webster

Connie Ray, 53, and her granddaughter Zoe Webster, 4, both of Playas, N.M., died Sunday in Lordsburg, N.M. Connie was born June 10, 1949, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. Zoe was born June 30, 1998, in Las Vegas. Former Las Vegas residents, Connie was a purchasing technician for the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

Connie is survived by two daughters, Brandy Webster (Zoe's mother) and Michelle Wieland, both of Las Playas; one son, Russell Arriola of Las Vegas; her mother, Agnes Ray Wilfong of Kingman, Ind.; three sisters, Charlotte Arrowsmith, Joey Ray and Darlene Staite, and one brother, Tracy Ray, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Zoe is survived by her parents, Richard and Brandy Webster, and three brothers, Zachery, Stratton and Reece, all of Playas; and her grandparents, Tom and Ann Webster, and Richard Russell Arriola, all of Las Vegas.

The family is receiving guests one hour prior to a 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Alan Rosenthal

Alan Rosenthal, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for seven years, he was a sales consultant for a promotional glassware company, a member of the American Golf Association, American Golf Club and Knights of Pythias Gem Lodge of Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is survived by one daughter, Chayka Rosenthal of Baltimore; one son, Scott Rosenthal, and two brothers, Leonard Rosenthal and Marvin Rosenthal, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane with burial following in King David Cemetery.

Lawrence G. Rubin

Lawrence G. Rubin, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was a casino slot manager and an Army veteran.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Laurie H. Sarabia

Laurie H. Sarabia, 46, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 14, 1955, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; one son, Joseph Sarabia of Las Vegas; her mother, Doris Kaye of Mesquite; her father, Sheldon Weiner of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Carol Henderson and Andrea Benzel, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Chong Stephens

Chong Stephens, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 25, 1939. A resident for 15 years, she was a dealer.

Claudette Van Fossen

Claudette Van Fossen, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 11, 1937, in New York City. A resident for seven years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Van Fossen of Las Vegas and John Van Fossen of Vallejo, Calif.; two daughters, Lisa Koehler and Michelle Dick, both of Mount Shasta, Calif.; one sister, Edna Flood of Norwich, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
