The price of gasoline has climbed an average 4 cents a gallon in Nevada, but Las Vegas is now home to the most inexpensive fuel in the state.
AAA Nevada reported Wednesday that the average cost of a gallon of unleaded, self-serve gasoline is up from October to $1.50 a gallon in the state. The auto club's monthly gas price survey also said fuel costs fell 2 cents a gallon in Las Vegas in the past month with the average price hitting $1.42 a gallon. The highest price was reported in Elko, $1.54 a gallon.
"Over the past several weeks, demand for gas has slowly been outpacing available supply," said AAA spokesman Atle Erlingsson.
AAA said the national average for gasoline was up 1 cent from October to $1.46 a gallon. Other average prices in the state: $1.53 in Reno, $1.48 in Carson City and $1.51 in Sparks.
