Letter: Hospital does exceptional job
Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 | 10:08 a.m.
I was processed quickly through the emergency room by doctors and nurses into a ward. There they immediately began a series of tests. After each test, within less than two hours, a doctor would appear with the results and explain what would follow. It took four procedures to find that I had a pulmonary embolism, not a heart attack. Not one person on the staff was even slightly impatient with me, despite the fact that I was there over a weekend.
As to taking financial advantage of patients, I doubt that it happens at this hospital. It is located in a poor area of town, and apparently takes in many charity cases whom they treat with care equal to those like me who have hospital insurance.
